Personal Assistant for bank shifts with evening availability
Support a 35‑year‑old wheelchair user living with cerebral palsy as a non‑medical, enablement‑focused personal assistant. The role centres on independence, choice, everyday life at home and in the community. The position requires a practical, calm, and supportive approach that balances work, social time, and self‑care.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care: showering, dressing, hair and styling.
* Perform household tasks and assist with meal preparation.
* Run shopping and errand duties.
* Support social activities: accompany the person to meet friends, attend events, swim, walk, or go to appointments.
* Provide pet care for small older dogs.
* Offer light administrative or organisational support when needed.
Personal Qualities and Attributes
* Reliable, respectful, and trustworthy.
* Positive attitude over experience.
* Good communication and social skills.
* Able to follow instructions and use initiative.
* Flexible and organised.
* Comfortable with dogs.
* Full UK driving licence (use of Motability vehicle during shifts).
Employment Details
* Hours: Bank/Cover work.
* Pay: £13.50 – £14.00 per hour (employed) or £16.00 per hour (self‑employed).
* Job type: Part time.
* Must prove the right to work in the UK; no sponsorships available.
* DBS check and references may be required depending on employment status.
