Job Purpose
To support the licensed Insolvency Practitioners by managing a varied portfolio of corporate restructuring and insolvency engagements and to manage and develop a team of executives. To support with business development and client services.
Job Role
1. Managing corporate insolvency procedures – administrations, liquidations (insolvent), and voluntary arrangements.
2. Managing some advisory engagements.
3. Applying up-to-date knowledge of appropriate case law, SIPs and legislation.
4. Prioritising and resolving conflicting client demands.
5. Liaising with professionals e.g legal teams, valuation agents, referrers.
6. Keeping partner/ appointment-taking director informed of case progress and any problems arising.
7. Supporting and developing the use of new methods and service/product offerings to clients.
8. Managing and supervising the case team, allocating work to team members and ensuring the team complete work to agreed deadlines.
9. Providing on the job training and coaching to team members.
10. Formal performance manager to multiple members of the team.
11. Considering the development needs and skills of those under supervision, organising tasks and responsibilities.
12. Reviewing the work of others and providing formal and informal feedback.
13. Acting as a point of contact for both IP and client, ensuring both are kept fully informed of any issues arising and the progress of the cases.
14. Building strong working relationships with the client, ensuring any problems or requests are dealt with promptly.
15. Assisting the team with marketing and business development activities.
16. Identifying and converting opportunities (business development).
Central Milton Keynes based office location with a hybrid working model, some travel to other offices (London, Birmingham generally) and to client sites.
Person Specification
17. Strong experience of managing corporate insolvency procedures – liquidations (insolvent), administrations (including trading and prepacks) and (ideally) voluntary arrangements.
18. Some experience in advisory engagements is preferable but not essential.
19. Holds up-to-date knowledge of appropriate insolvency case law, SIPs and legislation.
20. Confident communicator by telephone.
21. Ability to express ideas with authority and conviction throughout verbal and written communication.
22. Excellent written and oral presentation skills required.
23. As this position involves client contact, the person must be able to present a professional image to the firm's clients.
24. Experience in managing a team's development using formal appraisal processes.
25. Ability to manage WIP, billing and case progression.
26. Ability to identify issues through sound analysis and application of commercial acumen in all situations.
27. Proven track record of client handling and ideally, some business development.
28. Ability to develop new initiatives.
29. You must be CPI or equivalent qualified with 5 + years insolvency experience.
30. An accountancy / JIEB qualification is desirable.
31. Strong team player.
32. Ability to develop self and others.
33. Desire to help grow and develop the department.
