About the Role
One of my local government clients are seeking to recruit a dedicated Visiting Officer. This role is critical to ensuring that vulnerable residents receive timely support and guidance in navigating housing and homelessness services.
You will carry out home visits to residents living in temporary accommodation, council tenancies, housing association properties, or privately rented homes—particularly those applying as homeless or already under homelessness duty.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct face-to-face home visits and resident assessments
*
Ensure all safeguarding and housing needs are identified
*
Support the verification of residency status and living conditions
*
Act as a point of liaison between the resident and Council services
*
Ensure accurate record-keeping and timely reporting
Requirements:

Experience in housing, homelessness, or temporary accommodation roles
*
Knowledge of homelessness legislation and local authority duties
*
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
*
Enhanced DBS check required
