Job Description: Care Assistant Fountains Lodge Care Home, 13–17 London Road, Southborough, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN4 0RJ CQC rating: Good Carehome.co.uk rating: 9.7 / 10 £12.25 - £13.25 per hour Permanent contract 44 hours and 33 hours available including alternative weekends Fountains Lodge provides personalised nursing and residential care to people living with cognitive impairments, including dementia care. The purpose built home in Tunbridge Wells offers short stays too (including palliative care), to help both carers and their loved ones at times when they need a break or a little extra support. All bedrooms are tastefully decorated and offer en suite facilities, while some come with patio doors providing direct garden access. It also has a suite suitable for couples. The home has its own café as well as lounges and private dining areas for family and friends to come and enjoy when visiting their loved ones or celebrating a birthday or anniversary together. Situated in Southborough, the home is a few minutes from all its amenities – shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, and has good transport and road links, making it ideally located for visiting family and friends. Staff take great care to focus on the person. Its important for residents to feel at home, so it creates a friendly environment with an individually appropriate balance of care and independence. Enjoying food is an important part of life. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients and try to cater for all ethnicity groups. Soon after a resident arrives at Fountains Lodge, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them. There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. Key Responsibilities Support residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care. Observe and manage residents' behaviour with care and ensure to document and report any changes in accordance with the required legislation. Support residents' nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan. Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both in groups and individually. Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory & legal requirements. What we're looking for: Motivation, positivity, and great interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Desirable: Previous experience in a care home environment or a Health and Social Care qualification.
