As a part of the Wartsila Marine Sales organization you will be part of the journey of establishing and driving the development of the Marine Sales in your account ownership.
You will be responsible for ensuring that we identify and pursue relevant opportunities in your area, leading the sales activities, and for closing deals with the customers. In this position you will be reporting to General Manager, Sales UK & IE Marine.
You will be located in the South of England.
Main responsibilities
* Build and maintain close contact between the company and existing and new customers that leads to new product sales, services and solutions
* Lead and manage owner accounts to meet strategic goals.
* Lead and/or participate in sales projects in own responsibility area and report the progress to relevant stakeholders.
* Set targets and review the performance with the GM Sales.
* Execute or define action plans.
* Develop the local market (local shipowners) which is crucial to improve and expand the install‑base locally
* Maintain a CRM opportunity pipeline according to guidelines and issue visit reports within agreed timescales
* Develop an understanding of our customers' business to create suitable and compelling valued offerings that enhance their business
* Maintain regular contact by visiting key personnel in customer organisations and presenting the offering of all category products in a manner reflecting the company's values
* Assist customers with budget planning for maintenance of Wartsila Marine products where identified
Main Requirements
* Experienced Sales Manager with a proven track record in delivering business results.
* Commercial: eager to grow the business, close the deals – still securing required profit margins.
* Consultative negotiation skills, proficient at negotiations both technically and commercially and able to close deals.
* Excellent communication skills, with an ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally.
* Presentation skills, ability to adapt the messaging to the audience.
* Strong team / team building capacity.
* Tolerance to work under stress in a complex business environment.
* Ability to operate within a high performing team based on trust.
* Previous experience in marine engineering and/or shipowner sales business considered an advantage.
* Working knowledge of marine power plant, propulsion and electrical systems would be desirable.
Education
University/Bachelor (preferable in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
