About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Head of Private Client Solicitor for our client to lead our Private Client department and drive the continued growth of our offering. This is a senior leadership position suited to an experienced solicitor who combines technical excellence with strategic vision and a passion for delivering an outstanding client experience.
As the Head of Department, you will oversee a growing team, manage a varied and high‑value caseload, and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the practice. Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop the Private Client team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Manage a complex caseload including wills, trusts, probate, estate planning, tax matters, and Court of Protection work.
* Drive departmental strategy, growth, and business development initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain the highest standards of client care.
* Build and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser to high‑net‑worth individuals and families.
* Collaborate with the wider leadership team to support firm‑wide objectives and cross‑departmental opportunities.
About You
* Qualified Solicitor with 4+ years PQE in Private Client law (or equivalent experience).
* Proven leadership experience within a Private Client team.
* Strong technical expertise across the full spectrum of Private Client matters.
* STEP qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
* Commercially astute with a track record of successful business development.
* Excellent communication skills and a client‑centred approach.
* Ambitious, proactive, and confident in driving departmental performance.
