A firm of Chartered Architects specialising in home extensions, loft conversions and housing developments, established for 30 years. You’ll be joining a team of 5 who are passionate about delivering meaningful spaces for their clients.Your roleAs an Architectural Technician or Architect, you will be involved in a wide range of residential, housing / apartment projects and mixed-use projects. Key responsibilities include:
1. Conducting measured surveys and attending site visits
2. Taking detailed client briefs and translating them into design concepts & sketch plans
3. Preparing and submittingprehensive drawing packages for planning and building regulations, particularly for house extensions.
4. Coordinating with consultants, contractors, and local authorities
5. Ensuringpliance with UK building regulations, planning policies & permitted development rights and statutory legislation.
6. Supporting the design team with technical detailing and presentation materials.
7. Contributing to project delivery from concept through topletion.
8. Support quality assurance and maintain project documentation standards
Candidate requirementsTo be considered for this role, you should have:
9. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a UK architectural practice undertaking similar work.
10. Strong experience within the residential sector
11. Proficiency in AutoCAD
12. Proficiency to write tender packages and producing drawings in AutoCAD.
13. Proficiency to produce all relevant drawings and applications
14. Excellent technical knowledge and attention to detail
15. Strong understanding of the building regulations
16. Strongmunication and organisational skills
17. A detailed understanding of Seven Trent Build over and near too agreements.
18. A detailed knowledge of permitted development rights, in particular for residential properties.
19. Reasonable knowledge of the Party Wall Act and ability to serve relevant notices. (Not draft awards this will be done by Party Wall Surveyors separately).
20. Ability to work on your own initiative
21. Ability to work as a team player, work under high pressure in this fast-paced environment, meeting strict deadlines.
22. Advantageous: Good design sensibility and freehand sketching ability
23. Advantageous: Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
24. Advantageous: Knowledge of the role of the Principal Designer CDM/ BRPD
25. Advantageous: Detailed knowledge of Revit
26. Full driving licence and own car.
