Your new role
As a Senior Buyer, you’ll take ownership of strategic procurement activities, supporting value delivery through cost reduction, supply chain resilience, risk mitigation, and ESG initiatives. You’ll manage end-to-end procurement processes for specific categories, leadmercial analysis, negotiate contracts, and build strong relationships with stakeholders. This is a dynamic role where you’ll influence strategies to improve Total Cost of Ownership, quality, service levels, and sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading category management using a structured 5-step process.
2. Driving cost savings and cash flow improvements.
3. Conducting detailedmercial analysis and RFP bid evaluations.
4. Negotiating and managing supplier contracts.
5. Building strong stakeholder relationships and influencing senior managers.
6. Managing projects and delivering objectives within agreed timelines.
What you'll need to succeed
7. Degree-level education in a relevant field (Supply Chain, STEM) – advantageous but not essential
8. CIPS / MCIPS would be advantageous.
9. Experienced Buyer, Senior Buyer, Purchasing, Category Management or in amercial role, ideally within logistics or retail.
10. Strong financial awareness and analytical skills, with advanced Excel proficiency.
11. Excellent negotiation,munication, and stakeholder management abilities.
12. A proactive mindset with amitment to continuous improvement.
