Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class1 HGV Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and vehicle care. Responsibilities
* Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
* Ensure timely delivery of products while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
* Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring securement of goods during transit.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly.
* Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, routes, and vehicle maintenance.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
* Assist with loading and unloading cargo as required ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
* Adhere strictly to all health and safety standards while on the road and during loading/unloading procedures.
Skills
* Valid HGV Class 1 Licence with a good driving record. Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles.
* Strong driving skills with a clean driving licence suitable for operating large commercial vehicles.
* Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and handle paperwork accurately.
* Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
* Ability to work independently, demonstrating responsibility and attention to detail.
