We are seeking a Phlebotomist to join our friendly, hardworking team. The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining blood samples from patients in a professional caring manner, whilst demonstrating high standards with regards to infection control and good working practices. They will work closely with the wider GP team: Doctors, nurses, allied health care professionals and administrative staff, to support the delivery of effective clinical services.
Main duties of the job
To run Phlebotomy clinics, collecting blood samples from patients within timed appointments. They will be able to show patience, have a caring attitude and be able to put patients at ease. They will call their own patients and mange their clinic list in a timely manner.

Townhead Surgery is a busy rural GP Training Practice. We are a dispensing practice, with a list size of 9,500 patients. The Clinical team includes GPs, an ANP, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Physiotherapist, Mental Health Coach and Practitioner and Social Prescribers, who are all supported by a comprehensive administrative team. We strive to promote excellent patient care and are forward thinking, being proactive in screening and promoting clinical care to our patients. We are a friendly team, looking to recruit a Phlebotomist to work alongside our caring, hardworking team.
Job responsibilities
To provide Phlebotomy services to our practice population, following safe operational procedures for Venepuncture and following the Infection Control Policy. They will be required to perform venepuncture on different age groups and maintain clinically accurate electronic records. They will manage their own clinic and on occasion will liaise with internal and external clinical and administrative staff over the telephone.

Qualifications
* GCSE grade C / 4 or above in English and Maths.
* Trained and worked as a Phlebotomist.
