These schools support pupils who experience significant challenges with behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing, engagement with learning, and social interaction, often linked to SEMH needs, trauma, or unmet special educational needs. The Role As a Behaviour Mentor in Edgware, you will play a critical role in supporting pupils who struggle to manage their behaviour within a school environment. Many pupils you work with may present with SEMH needs, ADHD, Autism, attachment difficulties, or trauma-related behaviours. These challenges can result in low-level disruption, emotional outbursts, withdrawal from learning, or more significant behavioural incidents. Your role will focus on providing consistent, calm, and structured support, helping pupils to regulate emotions, understand boundaries, and re-engage positively with education. You may support pupils on a 1:1 basis, work with small intervention groups, or provide flexible support across a classroom or year group. Some placements may involve working within reflection or withdrawal spaces, supporting pupils following behaviour incidents and helping them reintegrate successfully into lessons. You will act as a trusted adult, offering stability and guidance throughout the school day.
