We’re partnering with a leading national training provider in the utilities sector to recruit a Trainee Cable Jointing Instructor. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced cable jointer looking for a more stable, local role with no weekend work and a real work-life balance. If you’ve built your career in electricity distribution or transmission and are ready for the next step, full training and qualifications will be provided to support your transition into instruction and assessment. As Cable Jointing Instructor you’ll play a key role in delivering and developing high-quality training programmes within the power sector. Working with both new entrants and experienced operatives, you’ll pass on your technical knowledge across LV and 11kV cable jointing, while supporting industry qualifications and compliance training. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging, hands-on training in cable jointing and electrical distribution Support the design and development of industry-leading training programmes Assess learners against national occupational standards and qualification frameworks Provide coaching, feedback and support throughout the learner journey Ensure all training meets current health & safety legislation and industry standards Work closely with internal teams and external clients to meet training needs Maintain training equipment and ensure a high-quality learning environment We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in electricity distribution/transmission cable jointing City & Guilds Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline LV Jointing authorisation (current or previously held) Strong communication and organisational skills Full UK driving licence Willingness to work towards an assessor qualification (fully supported) Desirable Experience (But Not Essential) Experience with 11kV / HV jointing Assessing or training experience Teaching or assessor qualifications (e.g. A1, D32/33, PTLLS) Health & safety certifications (IOSH, NEBOSH) Salary & Benefits £50,000 salary 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays Christmas shutdown) Pension – 5% employee / 3% employer HSF Health Scheme Perkbox discounts Cycle to Work Scheme Full training & career development into instruction/assessing Why Make the Move?
