Arup’s Electrical Engineers apply specialist skills to infrastructure projects worldwide, focusing on Water, Energy, Power, Industrial, and Process sectors. We deliver a broad spectrum of expertise in water treatment, wastewater, hydro, CHP, waste‑to‑energy, solar PV, hydrogen, wind, gas, HV/LV transmission, steam generation, chemical handling, and food & beverage processing. Clients include water companies, energy generators, infrastructure owners, rail owners, government agencies, and renewable energy investors.
The Opportunity
We are seeking Electrical Engineers with experience in Instrumentation and Controls, ranging from senior leaders to mid‑level professionals. You will contribute to projects across the UK in the Energy, Water and Resources sectors, supporting design, delivery, timelines and budgets. Senior candidates will lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor colleagues and shape technical excellence. Early‑career candidates will gain hands‑on experience and build foundations for future leadership.
Responsibilities
* Interpret and produce detailed design documentation.
* Produce and interpret complex or detailed design drawings and documentation.
* Apply and grow knowledge of Electrical and Control Systems design, CDM regulations, and design tools (e.g., Trimble).
* Assist in the delivery of sustainable designs in energy (wind, solar, hydro, hydrogen, energy storage) and water treatment and distribution.
Qualifications
* Experience in Instrumentation and Controls.
* Familiarity with design software and tools (e.g., Trimble).
* For senior candidates: Ability to manage multidisciplinary projects across Energy, Water, and Resources sectors and detailed knowledge of CDM regulations.
* Specialist knowledge or experience within at least one area of Electrical and/or Control Systems engineering.
* Ideal: IEng or CEng professional registration through IET, CIBSE or relevant body; degree qualified (likely Masters Engineering or equivalent).
* Eligible UK driving licence; security clearance or eligibility advantageous.
