Job title: Production Manager – Powertrain
Salary: Up to £ 68,000 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
1. Responsible and accountable for delivery and execution of the T26 Propulsion Powertrain Integration Programme on T26 (Alignment and installation through to Systems Hand-over and Commissioning)
2. Promote and maintain a positive safety culture that prioritises safety and wellbeing of all employees, whilst ensuring compliance with the company's HSE Environmental legislation
3. Provide effective leadership and work collaboratively with a multi-organisation/multi-functional team with IPs, OEMs and Major Subcontractors to ensure scope is completed safely, on time and to stringent quality requirements
4. Ensure a compliant and certifiable Propulsion Powertrain Alignment is delivered in line with contractual standards and all inspection criteria are met, in accordance with appropriate business and project governance
5. Responsible for the team’s performance and daily earned value management progress through detailed work plans and business systems. Set daily and weekly targets to ensure the team maintains due date performance and schedule adherence, achieving milestones throughout
6. Be responsible for influencing and coordinating planning of scope, resolving all internal and external dependencies including material management
7. Effectively deploy resource allocation for upcoming tasks to ensure operators are fully SQEP in planned activities or that the experience is suitably managed
Your skills and experiences:
* Safety-focused with experience managing teams within a high-risk environment
* Recognised experience delivering complex mechanical engineering packages within a manufacturing environment
* Excellent leadership, delegation, and team-building skills to enhance performance within a multi-disciplined team
* Experienced in Earned Value Management, planning/forecasting, and budgeting
* Honours Degree or equivalent in an appropriate subject
* In-depth knowledge of component parts and systems forming the Propulsion Powertrain Design of a naval vessel

The Powertrain Delivery Team:
As a Production Manager responsible for powertrain installation, you will have the opportunity to deliver a complex and critical package of work across multiple vessels at Scotstoun and Govan sites.
Type 26 features one of the most complex mechanical propulsion systems on any ship; delivering high-quality installation, verifying design, and creating repeatability across the class are of major strategic importance. The programme has invested in an integrated team of SQEP professionals to ensure delivery aligned with safety, quality, cost, and schedule, and to develop enduring capabilities.
This role is accountable for delivering planning, preparation, and execution of the Type 26 Propulsion Powertrain scope, including mechanical installation and alignment from GT to Propellers, up to the handover to commissioning.
The job involves leading the integration and delivery of work-scope, developing processes, capabilities, and documented ways of working to enable successful follow-on ships. It also includes managing and coordinating suppliers and major subcontractors supporting Propulsion Powertrain activities on and off board Type 26.
