This role is perfect for someone with experience in the field, who’s passionate about supporting families and carers affected by a loved one’s relationship with drugs or alcohol. Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week Full time Salary Range: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 Dependent on experience, pro rata for part time hours Allowance: £ 4,133.14 Inner London Weighting pro rata Contract Type: 12-month fixed-term contract with a strong possibility of extension or becoming permanent, based on future funding and service needs *Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. About the role: As a Family and Carer Practitioner, you’ll play a key part in supporting and empowering those who are supporting others. You will: Develop tailored packages of support for families and carers, helping them to navigate challenging circumstances with greater confidence and care. Work alongside volunteers and colleagues to provide compassionate guidance and advice. Build strong links with community organisations and mutual aid groups to broaden the network of support available. Deliver meaningful 1-to-1 sessions and engaging group interventions, including structured programmes like CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training). Provide advocacy, emotional support, and opportunities for respite. Contribute to reducing harm and promoting wellbeing for families, carers, and the wider community. What we’re looking for: Experience working in the field of drug and alcohol support, or a related area where you've supported people through change. A deep understanding of how families and carers are impacted — and how best to support them. A clear, compassionate communicator with strong organisational and IT skills. Someone who can work well independently, but also thrives in a team. Confidence in safeguarding practices and knowledge of the Think Family and Hidden Harm approaches. Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques and community-based support.
