About the Events Officer role:
Based within the Sites & Events team you will be working alongside another Events Officer to develop and deliver a diverse annual programme of large-scale, complex events across the National Museum of Scotland, National Museum of Flight and National Museum of Rural Life. Maintaining close communication with colleagues across departments, such as Visitor Experience and Marketing & Communications, as well as third parties and external partners you will produce high-quality events connecting both family and adult audiences with our museum collections and facilitating a positive and memorable experience.
As an Events Officer at National Museums Scotland, you will:
* Develop and deliver an outstanding public events programme across all National Museums Scotland sites.
* Develop and deliver large and medium scale events including Museum Lates and contributions to various festivals such as Edinburgh Science Festival.
* Lead cross-department teams in the planning, co-ordination and execution of large-scale public events at all sites.
Skills and experience we're looking for in our Events Officer:
* Significant experience in developing, planning and delivering medium and large-scale events on a short and medium term planning horizon
* Experience of working with partner organisations and third parties to develop, deliver and evaluate event programmes
* Strong project management skills, including staff, budgets and resources
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Clear ability to manage own workload in a context of competing demands and multiple priorities
