Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Industry Sector: Building & Construction Location: Wakefield, WF4 Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per year (Or more for the right person) Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday to Friday A client is seeking two experienced Quantity Surveyors with a house-building background to join their team in Wakefield. This role is crucial to ensuring the financial success of residential construction projects, working across all project stages-from pre-construction to completion. Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation - Assess project drawings/specifications to calculate material, labour, and equipment costs. Budget Management - Track and manage project budgets to ensure financial accuracy. Procurement - Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Contract Administration - Assist with contracts, assess variations/claims, and ensure compliance. Value Engineering - Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. Risk Management - Monitor and mitigate financial and operational risks. Cost Control - Implement measures to track and optimise spending. Final Account Settlement - Ensure payments and accounts are finalised upon project completion. Essential Requirements: Proven track record in house-building quantity surveying. Minimum 5 years of quantity surveying experience. A valid CSCS Card. A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. A UK driving licence. Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with site teams, suppliers, and clients.
