The Role: As Materials Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials across multiple residential projects, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. Key responsibilities include: Procuring materials for live residential developments Negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers Placing purchase orders and managing delivery schedules Monitoring stock levels and forecasting future requirements Building strong relationships with suppliers and site teams Ensuring materials meet specification and programme requirements Managing cost control and supporting commercial reporting Resolving supply issues and maintaining continuity of build programmes The Candidate: We are seeking a commercially aware and organised Buyer with proven residential experience. You must have: Minimum 3 years' experience buying materials for a residential developer Strong knowledge of construction materials and supply chains Experience managing procurement across multiple plots or sites Excellent negotiation and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities Strong attention to detail and cost awareness Experience working for a housebuilder or residential developer is essential.
