We are seeking a part-time SEN Teacher for a specialist PRU SEN school in Somerset, starting 22 April 2025.
The role is perfect for teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who are passionate about working with students aged 14 to 16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The hours are Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 3.30pm, with a salary range of £31,650 to £43,607 per year (pro-rata for part-time hours).
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Planning and delivering tailored lessons
2. Adapting teaching strategies to meet SEMH needs
3. Providing one-to-one and small group support
4. Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment
5. Collaborating with a dedicated team to develop learning plans and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies to support each student's needs

This School is a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) that supports students facing challenges in mainstream education.
Focused on SEMH needs, the school caters to students from Key Stages 2 to 4. Many students have experienced trauma, and the school places strong emphasis on life skills and emotional development.
Interventions include Talking Therapy, Art Therapy, ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant), Talkabout (social communication), and Speakeasy (reflective support). These help students overcome challenges and thrive academically and emotionally.
