We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic IT/AV Technician who is eager to build on their existing experience within a fast-paced, varied, and supportive environment. In this role, you will work closely with the IT Resources Manager and colleagues across the IT department and the Business Information Unit (BIU) to support all RVC users and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality IT services.
Responsibilities
* Support PCs, laptops, and Mac devices running the latest operating systems.
* Contribute to the implementation of IT solutions that support the College’s strategic and operational objectives.
* Foster clear communication and strong collaboration within the IT Helpdesk team and with stakeholders across the organisation.
* Diagnose and resolve faults across a broad range of hardware, including audio-visual equipment, operating systems, and software.
* Based primarily at Hawkshead campus, provide hands-on, face-to-face support with occasional travel to the Camden campus as required.
* Help maintain and troubleshoot over 2,000 University-managed Windows systems.
* Assist students with their personal devices.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
* Prior experience, ideally gained in a higher education environment.
* Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Location and Working Arrangements
Normal working hours per week will be 35 per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. This may vary from time to time in consultation with your line manager. Based primarily at Hawkshead campus, with occasional travel to the Camden campus as required. Hybrid working opportunities may be available under the organisation’s Working from Home Policy.
