The Role:
We're recruiting an experienced Warehouse Supervisor for an excellent customer within the building materials sector.
A forklift license is essential for this role
Must hold drivers licence as occasionally may need to cover for the driver.
As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning and organising the Warehouse function efficiently and safely, ensuring that the team complies with legislation and company standards.
In the role of Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for motivating your team and managing their performance, all whilst providing a high level of customer service at all times.
Experience & Skills:
Previous supervisory experience within a warehousing environment
Previous people management experience
FLT licenceEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure a safe warehouse environment, adhering to Health & Safety procedures
Plan, organise and co-ordinate warehouse activities to ensure maximum efficiency
Control order picking, goods in, goods out operations assigning workloads areas for improvement and implement change where appropriate
Organise, facilitate, and manage stock takes at regular intervals
Take ownership for resolving any issues relating to customer orders and deliveries
Identify employee performance against KPIs and initiate action / countermeasures to address shortfalls
Support in implementing warehouse and management systems and working practices
Monitor employees to ensure that each staff member has the necessary skills and competence to achieve activities
Follow procedures to ensure security of the Warehouse environment and maintain access control
Monitor and maintain stock accuracy in line with the warehouse management system and ensure all stock movements are recorded to ensure accuracy
Supervise the warehouse team and manage day to day warehouse operations
Build team culture and cultivate a cohesive team atmosphere by conducting regular team meetings
Ensure employees are adequately trained and competent within their role to ensure operational flexibility
Coach and motivate the team daily to ensure that business objectives are consistently met
Planning, supervising, and adjusting staffing levels to meet daily operational requirements within the warehouse
Ensure that the working environment is kept free from hazards
Investigate any accidents on site and generate reports as required
Undertake performance appraisals and monitor and deal with performance issues

Warehouse Supervisory capacity within a busy, distribution environment
Proven work scheduling / planning experience
Ability to work to deadlines and established KPI's
Experience of carrying out staff appraisals / reviews
Experience of undertaking disciplinary investigations and taking action where appropriate
Forklift licence
Health and safety awareness
Experienced in people management
Literate, with excellent written and verbal communication skillsAdditional information:
This is a permanent, full-time position
The working pattern for this role is based on a Monday to Friday working week and every other Saturday Morning
