Overall Purpose of Role
The primary role is to provide operational support to investment managers (IM) during the order generation process within the Investment Team. This includes supporting order generation, managing asset allocation changes, maintaining account events, and overseeing systems, procedures, and controls. The role requires regular interaction, responsiveness, and strong communication with investment managers and traders in a fast-paced environment, as well as effective liaison with business partners across Barings to meet expectations and deadlines.
Job Summary
The Barings’ Global Public Delivery Operations team seeks a motivated individual to join our team of financial professionals.
Primary Responsibilities
* Support IMs in order generation within Aladdin across various asset classes.
* Ensure instructions are accurately valued and specify settlement dates.
* Generate orders timely and report progress to IMs.
* Investigate pre-trade compliance issues and notify IMs.
* Monitor accounts daily for cash projections, corporate actions, and maturities.
* Evaluate and communicate asset allocation changes.
* Manage asset allocation instructions and deal orders with dealers.
* Create and maintain paper portfolios, reflecting allocation changes.
Other Responsibilities
* Assist with investment meeting packs, research papers, and ad hoc reports.
* Analyze and correct holding/exposure errors.
* Support administrative tasks like preparing materials and client presentations.
* Review and resolve cash and stock breaks.
* Report incidents and errors per policy.
* Execute tasks like portfolio restructuring, asset transfers, and client onboarding, collaborating with other departments.
* Coordinate corporate actions and proxy voting.
* Maintain communication with other IMAs for back-up and bottleneck resolution.
Secondary Responsibilities
Focus on system and process improvements, including reviewing workflows, updating procedures, maintaining audit records, and participating in system projects.
Additional Tasks
Perform relevant additional tasks as required.
Professional Development
Maintain up-to-date technical, regulatory, and personal skills, completing mandatory training and recording in Workday.
Regulatory Responsibilities
* Abide by FCA Conduct Rules and other regulations.
* Complete mandatory compliance training and assessments on time.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field preferred.
* 2-3 years' experience in investment support preferred.
* Investment Management Certificate or equivalent preferred.
* Proficiency with spreadsheets and databases preferred.
* Strong organizational, analytical, troubleshooting skills, and ability to communicate clearly.
* Fast learner, detail-oriented, highly motivated.
* Experience with Aladdin and PowerBI preferred.
