The Role
As a Residential Children's Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stable home environment for children and young people. You will provide day-to-day care, emotional support, and guidance while helping individuals develop confidence, independence, and life skills.
You'll act as a positive role model, supporting young people through challenges and celebrating their achievements along the way.
Key Responsibilities
* Support children and young people with their daily routines, including personal care where required
* Build positive, trusting relationships and provide emotional support
* Promote safe behaviours and help manage challenges in line with care plans
* Maintain appropriate boundaries, structure, and consistency
* Support education, hobbies, and social development activities
* Work in partnership with families, schools, and external professionals
* Contribute to care plans, reports, and reviews with accurate record-keeping
* Ensure the home remains safe, clean, and secure at all times
* Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all young people
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Experience working with children or young people in a caring or support role
* Understanding of child development and emotional needs
* Awareness of safeguarding, including risks such as exploitation, self-harm, and domestic challenges
* Ability to remain calm, resilient, and professional in challenging situations
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
Desirable:
* Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children & Young People (or willingness to work towards this)
