Overview
EMBS Engineering is currently working in partnership with a well-established, market-leading advanced manufacturing business located in Northampton, that specialises in the design & manufacture of complex precision engineering components for highly regulated industries.
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to ensure all products consistently meet established standards of quality, reliability, and performance. This role is essential in protecting our reputation by ensuring only high-quality products reach our customers.
Due to the nature of the markets our client supplies into, all candidates must be UK residents, and DBS checks will be required. Please note that we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspect Products: Carry out detailed manual, CMM, and scanning inspections of products and materials at various production stages to confirm compliance with quality standards.
* Document Findings: Record inspection outcomes accurately by completing reports and logs, summarising re-work and waste, and entering data into quality databases.
* Identify Defects: Detect and report defects or non-conformities in products, materials, or processes, escalating issues to the appropriate teams.
* Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with production and engineering teams to review inspection results and support continuous quality improvement.
* Maintain Equipment: Ensure inspection equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained in good working order.
* Follow Safety Procedures: Comply with all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
What you'll need:
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a relevant qualification or degree is advantageous.
* Experience: Previous experience in a quality control or inspection role preferred.
* Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to produce precise and thorough work.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
* Technical Skills: Familiarity with quality standards and inspection methodologies; competent using inspection tools and software, including PC-DMIS.
* Environment: Based within a Quality Laboratory setting.
* Equipment Usage: Regular use of computers for data entry and analysis, along with microscopes and shadowgraphs for detailed inspection work.
