Billington Foods supply the UK's Foodservice, Retail & B2B markets. Our product expertise covers chilled and frozen sauces and soups, frozen pies & desserts; and we are predominantly a bespoke manufacturer. We are also the home of Glorious Soups, available in supermarkets across the UK. Part of the Billington Group our factories are based in Scunthorpe and Wellingborough.
The full product life cycle takes place at the Scunthorpe site from prepping the ingredients, cooking the product, packing it securely before finally being boxed up ready for dispatch from our warehouse.

Each new joiner will progress through a 12 week training plan which will include Health & Safety and Food Safety Training.
About the role:
Provide expert knowledge to the Operations team in relation to Food Safety, Quality, Legality and Integrity.
Completion of audits and tasks to ensure Food Safety, Quality, Legality and Integrity is maintained at all time.
Play an active part in promoting and maintaining the Quality Contract culture.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Inspection, Acceptance and status maintenance of incoming raw materials
* Raising raw material non-compliance to the Raw Material Technologist
* Completion of GMP audits
* Completion of Fabrication audits as per schedule
* Completion of Hygiene audits as per schedule
* Management of non-conforming products in line with relevant procedures
* Product status maintenance throughout the process (physical and in Unity)
* Monitoring of temperature-controlled freezers and chillers associated with the storage of raw materials
* Raw Materials sampling as per schedule
* Cleaning validation and verification including hygiene audits
* Raising and communicating process / product non-conformances
* Assessment of ingredients and at any time when concession is required
* Management of concessions (approval and rejection of concessions)
* Support customer complaints investigations by identifying root cause and completing audits to ensure corrective actions are implemented
* Supporting the completion of product and process traceability as per schedule
Those wishing to apply must possess the following:
· Demonstrable relevant experience of working quality role with food manufacturing.
· Detailed knowledge of a range of raw materials, food manufacturing processes and able to demonstrate a good understanding of fundamentals.
· Knowledge of food legislation, BRCGS and customer requirements.
· Understanding of food defence and its interaction within raw materials, potential to be a key contributor to this program.
· Ability to work with IT packages including Windows 365, ERP- i.e. Sanderson Unity, Customer Platforms
