Workshop Coordinator

RVS Ltd is a high specification workshop based in Coventry, featuring maintenance pits, MOT testing capabilities, roller brake testing equipment, and modern office facilities. We hold a substantial contract with a leading civil engineering company, maintaining its large fleet of cars, vans, and HGVs.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Coordinator to join our busy Workshop Team, supported by an Office Administrator and 4 Vehicle Technicians.
The Role
As a Workshop Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring all vehicle repairs and services are completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes. You will be the first point of contact for management and responsible for coordinating and planning responses to vehicle repairs, breakdowns, routine maintenance, and servicing.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and motivate a team of 4 Vehicle Technicians, proactively reviewing daily workloads to drive performance
* Maintain effective workshop loading and prioritise repairs in line with customer and business demands
* Take responsibility for the efficient day to day running of the workshop, ensuring high productivity levels
* Ensure workshop machinery and tools are properly maintained, sustaining a professional working environment
* Promote and instil a "right first time" culture within the team
* Ensure compliance with company processes for accurate job recording and invoicing
* Manage parts ordering and returns, including validation of supplier invoices
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workshop security, leading by example
* Liaise with customers, keeping them informed and handling any concerns or complaints professionally
Key Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a service or maintenance control role (advantageous)
* Strong mechanical repair knowledge
* Logical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
* Well organised, proactive, and committed to high standards of quality
* Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong communication skills with both customers and technicians
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications
