We are collaborating with a prominent banking organisation to hire an IT Operational Risk Manager. This role is a vital addition to the wider risk team in the second line of defence, bringing expertise in IT and security. As the first technical expert in this capacity, you will provide essential oversight to the technology team and ensure adequate risk management.
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for pushing back and providing risk oversight to security and technology, ensuring the business meets its risk management objectives. Your key responsibilities include:
6. Provide technical oversight to the technology and security teams, ensuring effective risk management practices.
7. Work closely with senior stakeholders to support them in managing their IT and security risk profiles.
8. Identify and escalate emerging risks, ensuring prompt definition and ownership of actions.
9. Implement and maintain a robust governance framework that engages all relevant stakeholders for effective decision-making.
10. Develop and promote a culture of risk awareness across the organisation, contributing to the prioritisation, design, and implementation of operational risk principles.
The Skills You’ll Need
11. Strong understanding of IT and security risk management.
12. Excellent skills in managing senior stakeholders and influencing decisions.
13. Proven experience in digital and technology risk assessments.
14. Creative problem-solving skills to address non-standard risk management issues.
15. Ability to design and implement effective governance frameworks.
16. Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
