Overview
Alfa Laval UK&I is looking for a Project Engineer. The role can be based in Keele University or Camberley, Surrey. We will also consider remote candidates depending on suitability and location in the UK. Some travel will be expected for site visits and meetings where necessary.
Responsibilities
* Handle multiple customer projects with varied engineering requirements and deliverables from order booking to customer handover.
* Provide support and advice to the sales teams during the bid phase to ensure customer specifications and technical constraints are adhered to, while ensuring Alfa Laval is positioned to meet them.
* Work on projects centred around Alfa Laval core equipment (decanter centrifuges, belt presses, belt thickeners, drum thickeners).
* Ensure customer commitments are delivered in line with commercial and time constraints; move projects from kick-off through design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning.
* Engage with internal functions to ensure purchasing and invoicing processes are met; manage time and resources to deliver on time, on spec, and on budget.
* Delegate tasks to a dedicated support resource and manage commercial records, providing robust justification for deviations and changes.
Qualifications
* Experience as a project engineer in a similar role within a multi-disciplinary engineering department.
* Autonomous and agile, able to prioritise, initiate and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with a customer-focused approach.
* Strong networking, relationship-building, delegation, and communication skills; ability to provide concise updates to peers and management.
* Solid engineering fundamentals and proven track record in project delivery; technical qualifications and/or significant experience in engineering roles.
* Background with Alfa Laval products is desirable (separation, dewatering, or thickening).
* Proficiency with Windows and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with SharePoint preferable.
* Experience operating in an NEC project environment; understanding of policies and procedures.
* Full driving license.
