Quality Inspector
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to ensure that precision-manufactured components meet strict engineering and customer standards. The role involves inspecting parts at all stages of production, using a range of measuring tools and CMM equipment, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect incoming materials, in-process parts, and final products to verify compliance with drawings and tolerances.
* Operate and program measuring equipment, including micrometers, gauges, and CMM systems.
* Record inspection data, raise non-conformance reports, and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Maintain calibration records and ensure all inspection tools are serviceable.
* Liaise with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and drive improvement.
* Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality procedures.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
* Skilled in the use of a wide range of metrology tools; CMM experience (Aberlink Axiom preferred) is advantageous.
* Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.
* High attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
* Good communication and problem-solving skills.
* Proactive approach to quality improvement and teamwork.
Desirable
* Experience within automotive, powertrain, or transmission manufacturing.
* Knowledge of lean or Six Sigma principles.
* Relevant engineering or quality qualification.
