About the Role
As an Assistant Manager, you'll take ownership of the store whenever the Store Manager is away. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and prepare for your next step in management. You'll be responsible for everything from supporting and developing colleagues to managing stock, driving sales, and ensuring our high standards of customer service are consistently delivered.
Here's What You Can Expect to be Doing
Your role will be varied, hands-on, and focused on both people and performance, including:
* Supporting the Store Manager to develop a motivated and empowered team through a positive leadership style
* Leading by example to deliver outstanding customer service at all times
* Driving sales, maximising profit, and keeping costs under control
* Developing and supporting colleagues to reach their potential
* Taking responsibility for operational tasks such as stock management, cash handling, and store administration
* Ensuring compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, and company standards
A Few Things About You
We're looking for Assistant Managers who are confident, passionate about delivering an excellent customer experience, and able to inspire and lead their team. Ideally, you will have:
* Previous supervisory or management experience within a retail environment
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
* A genuine interest in developing and supporting colleagues
* Confidence in handling conflict and making fair, professional decisions
* An understanding of budgeting, targets, and how to achieve results
* Awareness of health & safety legislation and its importance in a retail environment
