Currently we are looking for an inspirational Lecturer in Media and Communications to help deliver the vision for our curriculum and push the boundaries of excellence in teaching, research and practice.
The Role
As Lecturer in Media and Communications you will have the opportunity to join a small, dynamic and dedicated team who are widely recognised for their expertise in media, communications, advertising and public relations.
You will be in an excellent position to use your professional media and communications industry experience to demonstrate significant practical expertise to your students across a wide range of areas including (but not limited to) digital communications, multimedia content creation, AI and broader media and communication practice and theory.
Your extensive skills, expertise and innovative, collaborative approach to teaching and research will enable you to deliver high-quality teaching and support, helping students develop both practical communication skills and theoretical understanding.
You will also have remit to take responsibility for teaching, supporting and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate students, supervising projects and dissertations, providing pastoral as well as academic guidance to students, contributing to curriculum planning and development, and engaging in innovative research and scholarly activity.
In doing so, you will become a valued member of a team whose work is enhanced by industry collaboration, with an ethos that embraces inclusive, social and ethical practice, instilling a strong sense of global citizenship and social responsibility in our graduates.
Please note that this role will also support delivery of the University’s Transnational Education (TNE) programmes overseas. The role holder will be required to travel overseas at various points in the year to complete teaching and assessment commitments with our international partners.
What we will need from you
* Professional experience and expertise in digital content developed during a substantial career in the media and communications industry
* Expert technical proficiency using industry standard software
* Expert knowledge sufficient to deliver advanced level teaching in one or more of the following fields: Strategic Communications, Digital Content Creation, Advertising and Public Relations, Media Practice, AI.
* Strong network of industry contacts.
* A commitment to overseas travel

Additional information
Salary: £46,049 - £58,225 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time – 35 hrs/wk
