About Our Client
Our client is an independent, RICS – CIAT – IHBC regulated building consultancy practice based in Shrewsbury, recognised for delivering high quality and reliable construction and property services across residential, commercial, industrial, retail, conservation, healthcare and education sectors.
The expert team conducts services ranging from measured surveys, building survey reports, building pathology, dilapidation matters for landlord and tenants, party wall matters, investigative reports, expert reports for a wide range of sectors and different types of property.
The new building surveyor will also be required undertake project management and contract administration services for renovations, refurbishment, extensions and new build projects where it is important to understand client requirements and provide professional advice to the highest standard at all times.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) with a minimum of five years post qualification experience. The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of projects where no two days are the same, and play a key role across all sectors.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate an appropriate skill set and experience with all aspects of building surveying and projects, and be able to work as part of an integral team and with other external disciplines. At the same time the candidate should be able demonstrate an aptitude to work effectively on an own initiative basis.
Location & Hours
Ideally based within one hour of Shrewsbury.
Standard hours: 08:30–17:30, although fieldwork will require regular flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting site visits, surveys, and client meetings.
Undertaking all aspect of building surveying and projects.
Reporting on residential and commercial properties.
Managing multiple projects across different sectors.
Candidate Requirements
MRICS-qualified with 5+ years PQE
Proficient across residential and commercial sectors
Mobile and available for travel nationwide
Hybrid working flexibility: office-based with occasional remote options
Able to maintain productivity after standard hours when on-site
Salary: £50,000 — flexible for the right candidate
