Job overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 5 or an existing Band 6 Physiotherapist looking to specialise and develop their skills in respiratory.
As a senior respiratory physiotherapist, you will be based within the Acute Respiratory Care Unit. This Unit is comprised of 24 ward level beds with capacity to provide high dependency care. You will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment and ongoing management of patients with complex respiratory and rehabilitation needs. You will work with the wider MDT to provide high quality care, working towards service improvement and development of our respiratory team. In return you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills by deputising for the team leader, including supporting the Critical Care Unit, supervising junior staff/students and involvement in training.
You will have:

* Full support from the Team Leaders, Physiotherapy Operational and Professional Leads and peers
* Regular supervision and opportunities for development
* Opportunities to develop your leadership skills
A band 5-6 training post may be considered.

Within this role, you will have the opportunity to provide support to lead a team of Physiotherapists, working closely with the MDT.
You will be expected to:
* Perform specialist assessment and treatment of respiratory patients and determine a clinical diagnosis, develop, implement, evaluate and modify individualised treatment programmes
* Engage in complex discharge planning and liaison with community services, as well as other agencies as required
* Provide supervision and teaching for band 5 physiotherapists/assistants and students
* Provide day to day management of the team and caseload in the absence of the team leader
* Contribute to flexible working pattern (across 7 days) including extra hours, weekends and bank holidays.
This is a full-time post, however, the options for working hours will be discussed at interview.
