Your Role as a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant
You will work one-to-one with a student, supporting their academic, emotional, and social development throughout the school day. Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering consistent, individualised classroom support
* Supporting transitions, communication, and regulation techniques
* Adapting learning activities under guidance from the class teacher and SENCO
* Encouraging independence, confidence, and social interaction
* Assisting with behavioural and emotional needs where necessary
What We’re Looking For
* A graduate (2:1 or above preferred) in Psychology, Education, or a related field
* A genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs
* Calm, compassionate, and resilient, especially in challenging situations
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Experience working with children or young people is advantageous (including voluntary roles)
