Band 7 Lead Occupational Therapist – Kent & Medway Adolescent Hospital (KMAH)
Role Summary
Lead and supervise the occupational therapy team within a 14‑bed adolescent inpatient unit at KMAH, part of the North East London NHS Foundation Trust.
Provide clinical leadership, maintain and enhance the ward OT programme, deliver sensory and individualized therapeutic plans, and collaborate with the IHTT for community-based care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership within the MDT, reporting to the Clinical Lead and Matron.
* Supervise Band 6 OT and OT Assistants, ensuring consistent evidence‑based interventions.
* Maintain and develop the ward OT programme, including sensory assessments and individualized plans.
* Collaborate with the Intensive Home Treatment Team (IHTT) for community‑based interventions.
* Ensure 365‑day service delivery in partnership with other NELFT services and external stakeholders.
* Provide training and supervision to team members.
Qualifications & Experience
* Essential
o Fully qualified Occupational Therapist, HCPC registered.
o Experience leading a multidisciplinary team in an adolescent inpatient setting.
* Desirable
o RCOT registered.
o Community or eating‑disorder care experience.
o Experience with CYP‑IAPT or similar programmes.

Contract & Compensation
Band 7 – £47,810 to £54,710 a year pro rata (plus HCAS).
Permanent, full‑time.
