NHS Locum Specialty Doctor in Older Adult CMHT

EPUT is looking to appoint an enthusiastic part time NHS Locum Specialty Doctor who will provide consistent, high quality Medical input support to the Old Adult CMHT based at Mustnessing Court, Billericay.
Main duties of the job
The Specialty Doctor will be expected to work independently and provide clinical leadership to the team through good multi‑professional working. The associate specialist will have shared responsibility for the clinical care of those patients referred to the team and will be expected to work closely with the consultant and team manager to ensure the provision of an effective service.
You should be eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold Section 12 (2) approval under the Mental Health Act 1983. You will also need to provide evidence of achievement of ST1/CT1 competences in psychiatry at time of application and likelihood of achieving CT2 competences in psychiatry by the start date of the post.
Job responsibilities
- The post holder will be expected to work with the two consultants of the team.
- Outpatient clinics for care coordinated and non‑care‑coordinated patients.
- Participation in MDT meetings.
- Clinical supervision of trainees.
- Medical support for CMHT duty desk.
- Occasional home visits.
Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment.
- Experience working in OA.
- Section 12 (2) approval under the Mental Health Act 1983.
Transport
- Holds and will use valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.
Clinical skills
- Relevant specialty clinical knowledge: capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge relevant to the job and specialty
- Clinical judgement: experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk. Knows when to seek help, able to prioritise clinical need.
- Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies or equivalent by time of appointment in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Practice
- Evidence of achievement of CT1 1‑3 or equivalent competencies in psychiatry at time of application
- Experience of working in Old Age.
Communications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
