Responsibilities
* Carry out fibre optic installation, testing, and maintenance on rail-based projects.
* Perform fault-finding, OTDR/ILM testing, and detailed test result analysis to industry standards.
* Install, splice, and terminate fibre joints, ODFs, and associated transmission equipment.
* Ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality standards across all work sites.
* Provide on-site supervision when required, ensuring adherence to health & safety and project delivery schedules.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver works to agreed timescales.
Qualifications
* City & Guilds 3668-02 (Units 1 & 2) – Essential
* Technical Skills: Proven experience in OTDR and ILM testing and analysis – Essential
* Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with the installation of fibre joints, ODFs, and associated equipment – Essential
* Experience working with ribbon fibre – Desirable
* Leadership & Safety: SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) qualification – Desirable, or willingness to complete the course
Additional Information
* This role requires travel across the UK, with occasional opportunities to work on projects in Ireland.
* Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and participate in a call-out rota may be required depending on project demands.
