Wiltshire College & University Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Motorsport Engineering to join our team. This full-time, permanent role (37 hours per week) is based at our Chippenham campus with the specialist Motorsport teaching centre located trackside at Castle Combe racetrack.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £28,168 - £39,244 per annum (Academic Grade 4 – 13) depending on skills, qualifications and experience, plus a £3,000 pro rata Specialist Skills shortage Bonus. Role
We are seeking a passionate, industry-savvy Lecturer in Motorsport Engineering to inspire and prepare the next generation of motorsport engineers. You will deliver lectures and hands-on workshops, support practical learning, and collaborate with industry partners using state-of-the-art resources including our motorsport workshop and simulation facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach and deliver high-quality lectures, labs, and workshops that bring motorsport engineering principles to life.
* Design and update course materials to reflect the latest innovations in motorsport engineering.
* Mentor students in academic and career development.
* Engage with industry to create opportunities for placements, projects and internships.
* Lead or contribute to research projects relevant to motorsport engineering education.
What we are looking for
* Qualifications: A degree in Motorsport Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. A teaching qualification is desirable, but we welcome applications from those willing to gain this qualification.
* Experience: Relevant industry experience in motorsport or automotive engineering; hands-on understanding of race car technology, systems engineering, or vehicle dynamics.
* Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to adapt to a variety of learning styles.
* Passion for Education: Enthusiasm for guiding students through technical challenges, projects, and competitions.
