About the Role: This state-of-the-art SEMH school in Harrow supports children and young people aged 5-18 who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as Autism and ADHD. Many students also experience associated learning difficulties and display challenging behaviour. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping pupils regulate their emotions, engage in learning, and build trust with adults. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you'll contribute to a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment where every child has the chance to succeed. Key Responsibilities: Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and emotional regulation Support with behaviour management, using de-escalation strategies and restorative approaches Work proactively with the teaching team to deliver tailored interventions Help create a calm, safe, and consistent environment Be a role model for behaviour, communication, and respect Support students both in and outside of the classroom, including during transitions or unstructured times Ideal Candidate Profile: Experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges, SEMH, or Autism A calm, confident, and nurturing approach to managing behaviour Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to defuse and de-escalate challenging situations Able to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff Resilient, proactive, and passionate about inclusive education Why Work With Us?
