Transport Team Manager – Bedford Distribution Centre
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off | 06:00 to 18:00
We’re looking for a detail oriented, self‑motivated Transport Team Manager to join our Distribution Centre in Bedford. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in a key operational area, which plays a vital role in keeping over 750 stores stocked and ready to serve our 4 million customers every week.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Managing our Loading teams and HGV Drivers to ensure deliveries are loaded accurately and safely, and trucks are in a sound operational state.
* Conduct driver pre‑shift briefings and post shift de‑briefs.
* General day‑to‑day management of Drivers.
* R2C data entry, and completing Scania grading/reports.
* Conducting return‑to‑work meetings, probation reviews and conduct/absence investigations.
* Liaising with and supporting the retail teams when required.
* Liaising with and reporting near misses to relevant warehousing based teams.
* Assisting Transport Shift Manager with their duties when required.
What We’re Looking For
* Demonstrable experience in managing a team of drivers.
* Good knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations, especially around HGVs and warehouse environment.
* Strong IT skills and ability to input/control data.
* Strong communication skills and ability to build supportive professional relationships with colleagues at all levels.
