A Senior/Principal Avionics Engineer is required within an Aerospace and Defence Company that provides technical engineering services and control system technology into the aerospace, marine, energy and simulation market sectors. The Senior/Principal Avionics Engineer will play a key role within a team responsible for integrating avionic and system equipment to aircraft. The Senior/Principal Avionics Engineer will support the Aerospace Technical Services ATS business unit which specialises in aircraft modifications and supporting new aircraft, new system and new equipment designs. The Senior/Principal Avionics Engineer will report to the Systems Capability manager support the development of a variety of systems and applications. The Senior/Principal Avionics Engineer will have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to work independently or within a team of engineers. Qualifications and Desired Characteristics of the Senior/Principal Avionics Engineer - Educated to degree level or equivalent in Engineering or Software Systems - Familiarity with tools such as, CATIA, DOORS would be advantageous but not essential - Integration of supplier and developed equipment - Working knowledge of relevant certification standards and practices - Concept development, requirement derivation, capture, validation and verification - Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills - Aircraft System architecture studies and Aircraft System design and development - System integration and Qualification test, similarity, analysis etc. - In - service event evaluation and root cause analysis and reviews - Avionic and Aircraft System architectures, data bus technologies, protocols etc. - Legacy, current and future technologies - Aircraft avionic/control system development system VandV lifecycle - Awareness of industry standards such as DO - 254/178/160 etc. - Ability to reverse engineer models from a defined architecture - Development of models in line with updates to specification - Development of test specifications and their implementation in code - Report writing skills Very Competitive salary, pension, death - in - service insurance, eligibility for bonus based on company performance Ability to gain Security Clearance to SC level
