Academics is working closely with a welcoming primary school in Llantwit Major to recruit a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant. This full-time temporary role starts in September 2025 and offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils in general classroom settings as well as through targeted one-to-one and small group work, including support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
Key Responsibilities:
* Support classroom learning across a range of year groups
* Provide one-to-one support for pupils with ALN
* Deliver small group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and social skills
* Assist with classroom routines, resource preparation, and behaviour management
* Collaborate with teachers, ALN coordinators, and support staff to meet pupil needs
* Promote an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment
Minimum Requirements:
* Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 preferred)
* Experience working with children in a primary school setting
* Minimum of two years' experience supporting pupils with ALN
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Academics)
* Two recent professional references
* Positive, patient, and proactive attitude to supporting learning
