The role:
Do you enjoy the challenge of working with clients experiencing multiple disadvantages? Are you interested in joining a multi-agency team to support some of Bristol's most vulnerable women?
As part of BDP's Engagement Team you will support women living in Next Link properties and those who are engaged in Next Link's community-based services to access into structured treatment through Horizons Bristol. Working alongside Next Link staff, you will provide an accessible, safe and welcoming service to women who are experiencing, or have experienced, domestic abuse.
You will also support Next Link staff and other Next Link Plus organisations by providing specialist drug and alcohol advice, information and training when required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting women who have experienced/are experiencing domestic violence to access drug & alcohol services
* Providing specialist drug and alcohol information to partner organisations & their staff
* Attending statutory and non-statutory meetings to safeguard service users
What we are looking for:
* Experience in working with clients in a professional supportive role e.g. care work, education, mental health, housing, nursing, drug and alcohol work
* Capacity to handle responsibility and remain enthusiastic and motivated working with people with complex needs
* An understanding of the stigma surrounding drug and alcohol use and a commitment to challenging this stigma
* Ability to liaise effectively with other organisations including Next Link GPs and other health professionals
*Due to the specific requirements of this role, the post is exempt under the Equality Act (2010), Part 1, Schedule 9 (Genuine Occupational Requirement)
