We are looking for a Highly Specialist Paediatric Dietitian to work as a clinical lead within general paediatrics and cystic fibrosis (CF). You should be an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and team-working skills.

You will be required to have experience of working within paediatrics. The paediatric CF centre at NUH cares for children and young people in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, seeing patients at the QMC and other hospitals across the East Midlands through a system of shared care. The successful candidate will have a caseload which will cover children’s wards, outpatient CF clinics at QMC and regional CF clinics. You will also help to guide and develop our general paediatric team, and will be responsible for planning and contributing to the delivery and improvement of the general paediatric dietetic service.

You will help to provide expert dietetic advice, managing complex paediatric cases within a varied inpatient caseload, which can include children with allergies, faltering growth and children who need nutrition support.

You will be a core and valued member of the multi-disciplinary team, comprised of consultants, other allied health professionals, specialist nurses and social workers, delivering high quality evidence-based care.

You will be responsible for the supervision, training, and support of students and more junior members of the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a busy complex caseload. You will be required to work across both inpatient and outpatient settings, to provide specialist care to infants and children in collaboration with their families/carer and the wider MDT.

As a visible leader, you will be a role model for the Dietetic team ensuring high standards of quality care for patients and their families.

This post is ideal for a dietitian wishing to develop their clinical, leadership and service development skills. You will take part in education events, student and staff training and lead dietetic service developments, in collaboration with other members of the MDT.

The Nottingham Children's Hospital (NCH) is based at the Queens Medical Centre campus and is part of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). We provide In-patient and out-patient care for children up to the age of 19 years old.

The Children’s Therapy team at NCH is a friendly and supportive department who work closely alongside the wider MDT, providing excellent evidence-based care and innovative ways of working. Come and join our wonderful team at NUH.
