We are looking for an experienced Catering Assistant to understand and adhere to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during food preparation, service and clean up. You need to keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
You should be capable of maintaining food as per customer medical and cultural needs including, for example, gluten free, low fat, soft food, halal, and vegetarian. You must exhibit a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and preparing their orders. You should use point of Sale system/cash register to accurately record and process payments.
You will have a good level of both written and spoken English skills with an excellent attention to detail. You must be willing to work in a chilled environment and in hot, noisy conditions. You must have great people and customer service skills. You should always have a can-do attitude together with the ability to self-prioritise will be required.
The ideal candidate should have food safety level 2. Must have good standard of numeracy, understands principles of stocktake and stock control. You need to uphold and reflects the vision and values of the Trust and Mitie in all actions and behaviours.
