Join Our Team as a Radar Mechanical Design Lead!

Salary: Up to £85,700 (dependent on skills and experience). We also offer part-time and accruing hours options—let us know if you’d like to discuss these!
What You’ll Be Doing:

Design & Analysis: Conduct detailed mechanical design and analysis to support the development of a complex new product.

Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical solutions align with overall system requirements.
*
Authority: Act as the Mechanical Design Authority, providing expert-level input throughout the product lifecycle.
*
Expertise: Apply your knowledge in key mechanical areas such as thermal management, structural integrity, or material selection.
*
Compliance: Ensure design compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal processes.
*
Support: Assist in design reviews, technical assessments, and implement design changes as needed.
Your Skills and Experience:
*
Expertise: Demonstrable subject matter expertise in at least one area of Mechanical Engineering (e.g., thermal systems, structures, CFD, FEA, or propulsion).
*
Experience: Proven track record in complex mechanical design, including the design, build, integration, and testing of advanced systems.
*
Translation: Ability to interpret and translate requirements into effective mechanical design solutions throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Tools: Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools for mechanical analysis, assessing structural behavior under various loads.
*
Governance: Comfortable working within engineering governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices.

Qualifications: Ideally holds Chartered Engineer status or has equivalent experience in a mechanical engineering discipline.
