Summary:
This position will be based at Castle Donington however you may be required to travel or work at other locations with reasonable notice.
Core responsibilities are to adhere to and meet the Departments Production Output to the MRP Schedules. Work to instruction given by Line Managers and Management to meet the requirements set out in the Company Values and Mission Statement.
Knowledge & Experience:
1. Competent in the visual inspection methods
2. Able to refer to Quality Procedures and SOP’s
3. TIG qualified or competently trained approved welder
4. Able to perform quality and consistent welds
5. Experience in welding small gauge material
6. Confident in working to process instructions
7. Familiar with Data card requirements
8. Able to read drawings and refer to work instruction
9. Understanding of NCR processes
10. Working to MRP requirements
11. Familiar with tooling, jigs and acceptance fixtures
12. Confident to use Micrometres, Verniers and digital equipment
13. Competent in using equipment in relation to your working area
14. Familiar with performing weld tests for approval to weld product
Responsibilities:
15. Be able to perform any general duties or tasks required by Management

19. Control your Time Management to ensure delivery of the products are met
20. Promote good team morale in your area

22. Assist in training of employees as required

24. Update daily tick lists and charts within the required time limit
25. Assist other employees with quality situations as and when necessary
26. Highlight Quality problems to the Line Manager and/or Production Controller
27. Able to carry out production work with reference to the Skill Matrix
28. Continuous improvements relating to this position and assisting the business to identify opportunities for improvement.
Welding
29. Maintain Data and clock on and off the computer system.
30. Ensure the MRP plan/Table layout is worked to as required to meet the schedule date
31. "Confident to use Micrometres, Verniers and digital equipment."
32. Confident to use all inspection gauges and fixtures for the welding of products
33. Confident to use all Data Cards and SOP's within the Welding Area.
34. Demonstrate competency in the visual inspection methods
35. Demonstrate competency to refer to Quality and Welding Procedures
36. Able to read and understand drawings to ISO and BS standards
37. Write and check SOP's for Welding use.
38. Maintain strategic consumable products for the Welding area
39. Attend meetings to discuss quality problems with all concerned
Daily Requirements
40. Ensure weld test are passed and recorded on test certificates and Charts prior to welding. (They must be completed before the work leaves the welding area).
41. Report to the Line Manager or Production Coordinator problems which effect production
42. Maintain visible plans on notice boards.
43. When all work on table is complete report this to Line Manager in order to allocate the next work required.
44. If no work is available report this situation to the Line Manager.
45. Maintain good housekeeping practises
46. Correctly record working hours, absence and leave on the ESS system
Welding Test Approval
47. Have completed the internal assessment or training in the preparation of weld sections acceptance in accordance with the Fusion Welding Procedure. (PFQP N09 Fusion Welding).
48. Be fully aware of the health and safety requirements of handling materials and their safe storage
49. Be aware of checks on all Fusion Welds to the Procedure (PFQP N09 Fusion Weld).
50. Be aware of the examination of Fusion Welds under NDT magnification.
51. Understand and manage the paperwork system to demonstrate full traceability of weld test in an audit situation.
52. Understand the requirements of the controlling specifications/procedures.
General:
