Job title: ArtForms Music Centre Instructor (Wind/Brass/Piano/Ensemble Direction/Drums)
Salary:£37,280 - £40,777 (pro rata); ~£23.17 - £25.17 hourly rate
Hours: 4 posts, 3 to 4 hours per week, all on Saturday mornings
Contract: Permanent
Location: Various Music Centres in Leeds
We are looking to appoint: Piano tutors (Wetherby & Horsforth) up to 4 hours; Woodwind/Brass tutor (Rothwell) 3 hours; Drum kit teacher (Wetherby) 3 hours, starting September 2026.

* A high level of ability in the instrument being taught and knowledge of that instrument family
* Broad knowledge of music teaching and current instrumental teaching trends
* Understanding of a wide range of musical styles and appropriate repertoire for the instrument family

About The Role
The role is to inspire and develop pupils, helping them progress with their chosen instrument, and to encourage engagement with wider playing opportunities such as centre‑based ensembles and City of Leeds Youth Music groups.

Responsibilities
* Teach individual or group lessons in line with ArtForms shared practices
* Be responsible for the musical progress of all students
* Deliver the agreed number of teaching hours for 27 weeks a year
* Plan and evaluate lessons, differentiating as appropriate
* Develop resources for teaching and learning
* Assist with enrolment and placement of students
* Promote student wellbeing and safety
* Participate in concerts and performances where appropriate
* Inform students and parents of other opportunities
* Implement safeguarding policies and procedures
* Support inclusion and equality for all
* Improve own practice through observation, evaluation and development programmes
* Work collaboratively with colleagues
* Attend relevant meetings and training events
* Maintain professional development through CPD

Qualifications
Essential: Grade 8 or equivalent on at least one instrument (including voice where applicable). Graduate or professional qualification or qualified teacher status is welcome.
