About The Role
We are looking for a Manager to join our Tax Innovation & Capital Incentives (ICI) team in one of our national offices. The ICI team has a wide range of clients across all industries including engineering, food & drink, manufacturing, financial services and software development. We advise businesses on HMRC incentives including Research & Development reliefs, Patent Box claims and Capital Allowances claims. Our aim is top quality client experience delivering in a way that differentiates us from our competitors. Our team includes individuals with, for example, general tax, audit and industry backgrounds, all bringing different skills, qualities and perspectives to ensure that we are delivering an exceptional service to our clients.
What Your Days Will Look Like
As a Manager in our team you will be involved in a wide variety of projects covering all of the incentives we advise on. You will be encouraged to take ownership of your own development, actively seeking new projects and staying current with HMRC guidance and legislation. You will develop and progress faster through exposure to practical application.
Responsibilities
* Taking a lead role in managing the client relationship, including deadlines, running parts of meetings, handling day-to-day queries, and acting as a trusted contact while exploring how we can add value within the wider tax team and across the Firm.
* Preparation of formal reports to support numerical claims for HMRC filing and project technical summaries to illustrate the innovation undertaken by our clients.
* Assisting with the review of numerical aspects of claims and application of the rules to claims.
* Proactive involvement in business development and identifying opportunities to win work for existing clients and new targets.
This role is for you if
* A sound understanding of the R&D regimes and experience in preparing SME and RDEC claims (reviewing claim workings, contributing to client technical calls, and preparing supporting documentation).
* Passion for client service and stakeholder engagement at all levels of seniority.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple clients across our portfolio.
* Excel/analytical skills to understand numerical aspects of claims and compile them.
