DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to play a vital role in ensuring the continuous development and execution of Health and Safety across the business.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
As part of your duties, you will:
1. Provide day-to-day HSE support, guidance, and advice to the Operational Management Team and aligned functions to ensure compliance with all relevant statutory legislation, CAA guidance, and company standards.
2. Support the implementation of HSE standardization and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with DHL and customer goals.
3. Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of all relevant HSE policies at the station.
4. Support the HSE Business Partner in driving engagement and fostering a Just Culture/Safety Culture within the station.
5. Coordinate HSE activities on-site to support the HSE Business Partner.
6. Monitor incident management data and perform trend analysis.
7. Maintain the Safety Improvement Plan, including leading and lagging indicators.
8. Conduct Safety, Health, and Environment audits and develop action plans in line with safety arrangements and divisional audit schedules, including customer baseline audits.
9. Assist in managing the site H&S committee.
10. Manage risk assessments and safe systems of work schedules.
11. Ensure timely completion of accident and incident investigations and implement actions to prevent recurrence, including major incidents and motor activities, tracking all actions through the SIP plan.
12. Support audits and monitor corrective actions in accordance with corporate and customer requirements.
13. Assist in managing claims.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
We’re interested in candidates with the following experience, but we also value potential and talent:
* Must hold a NEBOSH certificate (Essential)
* Thorough understanding of relevant H&S regulations in a warehouse environment
* 1-2 years in a safety or operational role with safety accountability
* Ability to engage with site and customer stakeholders
* Keen eye for detail to identify root causes and enable continuous improvement
* Effective communication skills at all levels, internally and externally
